With rolling hills and a striking coastline, it’s no wonder that the stunning scenery of North Devon attracts so many visitors to the area. And for many couples, this is one of the main reasons they return here for their wedding.
Whether you’re hosting your wedding here because of the beautiful backdrops on offer or because the region has a special place in your heart, North Devon is THE place to hold your big day.
No matter what you’re looking for, North Devon has it all. From beautiful beaches to quaint villages and even theme parks – it’s all here!
The Old Barn is situated between Bucks Cross and Higher Clovelly on the Devon/Cornwall border on the A39 Atlantic Highway, the main route through North Devon and into North Cornwall. Surrounded by the gorgeous Devon countryside but within easy reach of North Devon’s large towns, The Old Barn is in a great location.
Clovelly Village itself is famous for its cobbled streets - cars have never been introduced and sledges are used to transport the goods, just one of the features which gives Clovelly its affectionate title as “The village that time forgot”. At the bottom of the cobbled hill you will find the picturesque fishing harbour where traditional methods are still used.
Nearby you’ll find the stunningly rugged beach of Hartland Quay, the idyllic St. Nectans Church in Stoke and the tiny hamlet of Bucks Cross with its green woods and pebbled beach. Also nearby is Bideford Bay Holiday Park, which has chalets and wooden lodges with plenty of room for all of your guests to stay. You will also find bed and breakfast accommodation in many of the local villages and towns.
Crossing over the border into Cornwall you will find more small villages and towns, and miles of golden sand. Bude is only 15 miles away, a bustling seaside town with hotels, restaurants and, of course, its long sandy beach.
